My new formula for presentations

My new formula for presentations: write them normally in pp or latek, then use the written presentation as notes and create a new presentation that has only funny pictures and serious infographics that stack on top of each other in a barrage of animations. Only drawback, it attracts lots of questions from the audience and I end up feeling guilty about monopolizing the Q&A. Here is an example from the last Participedia meeting.

Skiing, inertia and deliberation

(Reflections on a rainy UK morning in which I miss Vancouver and the chance of skiing every weekend a lot) Managing a deliberative process is a bit like slalom. Starts slowly, but quickly builds up so much speed that to remain in the optimal line you have to anticipate like crazy every turn or you end up over-steering and losing speed.

We did the first (at least I think it is the first) door knocking experiment applied to promote participation in a CA

 

In the fall I am on Sabbatical between Morocco, Italy and the UK
