Combining the data collected by the Participatory Budgeting Project, by the Democracy Matters project and by the EMPATIA project I aim to construct the largest existing database on demographics of participants across different democratic innovations.

The paper we will write using this data compares 4 types of engagement system, open to all, open to all with oversampling minorities, random sampling, random sampling with monetary incentives.

The objective is to slowly expand this research to offer engagement recommendation tailored for participatory processes that are grounded in systematic data.
